The powder coating line consists of seven main components: pretreatment equipment, powder coating system, painting equipment, curing oven, heat source system, electrical control system, and hanging conveyor chain. The objects to be sprayed undergo a series of processes such as degreasing, phosphating, cleaning, drying, powder coating, and curing until completion, forming a systematic and coherent production process, which is the most basic production characteristic of the coating production line.
1. Increase the Utilization of Hanging Fixtures
Selecting complete sets or individual hanging fixtures based on the size and variety of workpieces can enhance the utilization rate of fixtures. If there are idle hanging points due to incomplete sets of workpieces, converting complete sets of fixtures into individual fixtures can increase their effective utilization. Additionally, using universal hanging fixtures for multiple workpiece varieties can minimize the need for frequent fixture changes.
2. Increase Backup Tanks
During peak production periods, the production line operates continuously around the clock. Due to increased production volumes, the solutions in degreasing tanks and pre-degreasing tanks often need replacement within a few days, leading to downtime for solution replacement. To ensure product quality without disrupting normal production, we have added parallel backup tanks next to the original degreasing and pre-degreasing tanks. This modification allows for solution replacement at any time without affecting normal production, requiring only the preparation of another tank solution in advance. This is an effective method to improve production efficiency.
3. Fine Management
Fine management enables comprehensive understanding of the true production capabilities of each process, providing a data foundation for organizing production reasonably and balancing production capacity. In coating technology, each operation step, process parameter, and operating standard are detailed in the process documents, enabling any worker to produce qualified products according to the specifications outlined in the process documents. This ensures coordinated capacity utilization across the entire coating line, maximizing production efficiency.
4. Use of New Coating Pre-treatment
In practical production, adopting new types of coating pre-treatment agents has been instrumental in improving production efficiency. Traditional coating pre-treatment agents required temperatures above 50 degrees Celsius, necessitating a lengthy preheating process before each shift, especially in cold winter weather when it could take a long time to reach the set temperature. The use of new low-temperature phosphating and degreasing agents has significantly shortened the preheating process, facilitating production management and increasing effective working time, thus enhancing production efficiency. Furthermore, it has also saved production costs, achieving multiple benefits simultaneously.
Coating equipment, working environment, coating management, coating technology, and materials directly affect the production efficiency of the coating line. In this process, the layout of coating equipment has a significant impact on the utilization of the powder coating line. Therefore, lean coating technology is also one of the important factors in effectively improving the efficiency of the powder coating line.
